Sharron and I never had a honeymoon, in fact we’d never had anything remotely recognisable as an idyllic break, so when the opportunity arose to take a weeks break in SW Scotland we grasped it with both hands. If you have never been to Scotland then you owe it to yourself to go....anywhere will do its all lovely. This part of Scotland is off the beaten track and yes there was a smattering of other tourists while we were there....probably 5 or 6. All joking aside its quiet and unspoilt....Gods country.
The cottage we rented was just a few miles north of Port William....a Google search will show you where.... it was isolated and beautiful, a small piece of Heaven on Earth, and other than the carrion crow’s tapping at their reflections in the windows, quiet as well. I decided I’d take but one camera and lens, my old Nikon F4s and 50mm F1.4 would do the honours and here is a small selection of images. I hope you enjoy them as much as enjoyed being there...PS we have it booked again already!!
